Technology Requirements
All students at the Virginia Tech Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy Program are required to be able to use the following resources and technological equipment:
- University systems such as HokieSPA, Graduate Student Services, Canvas, Virginia Tech email, digital library
- Specific software required for some courses (e.g., SPSS)
- Virginia Tech 4-Help (IT help services)
- Microsoft Office
- Video recording equipment in the Center for Family Services
Students enrolled in Practicum are additionally required to be able to use:
Technical Training
Training and information about these technological resources can be found below, with the exception of the clinical equipment used in the CFS. Training on the CFS video recording equipment and Titanium can be found in the CFS Policies and Procedures Practicum Guide which is available to current students.
Northern Virginia Center Resource Center Library
The Northern Virginia Center Resource Center is both a library branch and a support center for students and faculty in the National Capital Region. The facility is located on the first floor of the Northern Virginia Center. Services provided by the library include: Research and reference assistance, Computer Lab, Printing and copying, Group study rooms, Faxing, Study and work space, and more.

Graduate Student Services Office
The GSSO are in Rooms 405, 407, 409, and 411 of the Northen Virginia Center. All registration for Virginia Tech classes is done on the web through the Hokie Spa student system. However, student support personnel are available to assist you with first time registration, if needed, and with any registration problems that you might have. Some of the services they provide include:

- Plan of study review
- Processing graduate school forms

Canvas
Canvas is Virginia Tech's new learning management system (LMS). Canvas has a user-friendly online environment, and can easily connect instructors and students both in and out of the classroom.

Virginia Tech - Northern Virginia Center Facilities
The office of Facilities is the primary resource to the 14 departments at this location for scheduling graduate semester courses in our 19 classrooms. Facilities also schedules conferences, seminars, and special events for on-site departments within Virginia Tech's National Capital Region.
